Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit 'That Glow'

Highlighter plays an essential role in our everyday makeup routine, whether it be applied to a simple everyday face or on a dramatic night out look. When applying a highlighter, the goal is to achieve a reflective dewy look that makes you look like you just moisturized your skin. When applied correctly highlighter can make a major difference. With that being said I've always used M.A.C Cosmetics 'Mineral Skinfinish' in the shades Shaft of Gold, Check Bronze and Gold Deposit. The are highly pigmented and compliments my skin tone very nicely. After months of using the same three highlighter, I wanted to experiment brands and the highlighters. With being on social media and visiting different makeup artist's pages and the brand's pages, the Anastasia Beverly 'Glow Kit' was something trending.

Through the pictures I saw how pigmented and how beautiful the shades were displayed on lighter skin tones which made me hesitant to buy. Reason being, as you know depending on your complexion, it can really make a difference on how any makeup product appears on your complexion in comparison to someone with a darker or lighter complexion. I continued looking to see if I could find any swatches on what the products would look like on darker skin and ended up finding a  page specifically for dark skinned women who wanted to see product swatches before purchasing. All the shades that appeared in 'That Glow' kit was gorgeous on her skin, with and without light. The glow was just endless. That same day, Friday August 26, 2016, I ordered the palette and received it on Tuesday August 02, 2016.

The packaging screams elegant. The palette consists of 4 velvety powders; Sunburst, Golden Bronze, Bubbly and Dripping in Gold. These powders just like any other products are buildable. Meaning if you feel like it's too light when you first apply it, you are more than welcome to add as much as you want to fulfill the look that you are trying to achieve. Also you are not limited to wearing the highlighters on your cheekbones. They can be applied on your eyelids, brow bones  and inner corners. Last thing to add in regards to wearing it, if you want the product to appear more pigmented, you can alway wet your brush or use M.A.C fix plus and that will do the trick. Another good thing about this palette is that you are able to remove the pots and add them to your z palette or whatever the case may be to make it easier to carry around.

How it looks when light hits it.
From top to bottom: Dripping in Gold, Bubbly, Golden Bronze and Sunburst

How it looks without light

Sunburst – Bright, luminous gold with a metallic finish
Golden Bronze – Sultry, warm bronze with a gold-flecked finish
Bubbly – Rose champagne with a pearlescent finish
Dripping in Gold – Lavish gold with a vivid, reflective finish

If I am being completely honest, I find all of these shades to be a little bit light for my complexion except for Golden Bronze. Golden Bronze is my absolute favorite out of the four highlights. Don't get me wrong the others are nice as well but in order for me to wear them I would have to mix the shades with something a little darker so it won't look harsh against my skin. Golden Bronze is just perfect as it. What I also love about these shades is that they're not all shimmer it actually gives you the glow that you want.

The palette retails for $40.00 which is a good price in my opinion. You're getting 4 shades for $40 dollars in comparison to buying one highlighter elsewhere for $48.00.
