Colourpop Unboxing Review & Swatches
Saturday, October 15, 2016You all know how much I value Colourpop and their makeup products. You're buying quality makeup at a very affordable price. Their eyeshadows and liquid lipsticks are nothing but pigmented and in my opinion they are a lot better than most higher end makeup brands. There are plenty more products that I have my eyes on but I am buying them in moderation. They also have products that I've never purchased but would love to try them out for myself. I will continue to purchase from them and continue to give my honest review on whatever it is that I've bought. I'm not going to go too in depth in this post seeing how I have other reviews on this brand and their products.
Recently I bought a few eyeshadows, liquid lipsticks and highlighters from Colourpop. I felt comfortable buying their eyeshadows and lipsticks because I own some but this order would be my first time trying out their highlighters. Seeing how their eyeshadows are good quality, I figured that their highlighters would be just as great. Turns out that they are!!
The eyeshadows that I purchased are DGAF, Lala and porter. I've always wanted these shades but every time I went to go purchase, they were sold out. When I went back on the website and saw these shades I had to purchase them right away. I am so satisfied with these color. They are so pigmented and perfect for the fall. I cannot wait to play with these and try different makeup looks with them.
DGAF- is "a medium toned rusty brown topped with multi-dimensional gold glitter in a metallic finish". The gold glitter is apparent with or without light. In the pictures it appears lighter than it actually is. The overall color of this shade in my opinion is a deep dusty muave shade. Regardless of how deep the shade is, it is still beautiful.
Lala- "a true rose gold in an Ultra Metallic Finish". This description is the perfect way to describe Lala. It is such a feminine shade and it will look perfect against all skin tone.
Porter- "A warm burgundy with gold multi- dimensional gold glitter on top in a metallic." Honestly out of all the shades that I currently own from Colourpop, Porter is my absolute favorite. This color s absolutely one of a kind. I have no other shade like this one in my collection. Porter is the perfect burgundy shade and to top if off the silver glitter adds the perfect touch. It is so rich in color and it's the perfect shade for fall. I will definitely get a lot of wears out of this shade.
Here are the swatches of the shades. I prefer taking pictures of the products in natural light so you can see how rich and pigmented the shades are.

The eyeshadows retails for $5 and can be found on the Colourpop's website.

The highlighters that I purchased are Avalon and Most Necessary. As I mentioned before this is my first time purchasing their highlighters and I am very pleased with what I received. The highlighters are just as pigmented as the eyeshadows and can also be worn on the eyelids, brow bones and etc.
Left to right: Avalon, Most Necessary
Avalon- "a true golden bronze with golden pink duo chrome finish." Avalon is a shade that everyone should have. When it comes down to a nice gold highlighter, you can never go wrong with it. I think that a gold highlighter is nice regardless of your complexion. It gives you that nice bronzed golden look you are going for. The gold is rich and the texture is nice and smooth. It is pigmented to the point where you do not need to apply a lot. A little goes a long way.
Most Necessary- "soft copper with rosy gold highlights." This is another shade that I believe girls should have in their collection. Rose gold is such a feminine shade and just imagine that glow on you cheeks. Just like the others, it is highly pigmented and rich in color. The color is a little bit on the pinker side but it is still a nice shade over all. Also a little bit goes a long way.
Here are the swatches of the two shades.
The highlighters retails for $8 and again you cannot go wrong with this price. It is highly affordable to anyone regardless if you are on a budget or not.

The last thing that I will be talking about are the 'Ultra Satin Lip' Liquid Lipsticks. From looking at swatches of this new collection, they had nice shades. Recently I have been obsessed with lipsticks, especially matte ones so I figured why not purchase a few. The shades that I purchased are November and Echo Park. They are both neutral, beautiful creamy shades. I have yet to try them on my lips but I hope they'll look good against my complexion.
Left to right: November and Echo Park
Echo Park: "warm peach nude." Echo Park is probably my favorite out of the two. I feel comfortable wearing warm nude shades as oppose to pink because of my complexion. I prefer playing it safe with a nude color instead of wearing pink. Echo Park has a nice creamy texture and can be worn on a daily basis. Because they are satin formula, they won't dry out your lips.
November: "A mid-tone warm peachy pink." This shade is actually pinker than I had expected it to be. I honestly do not know how it's going to look on my skin but I defiantly know how to make it work. This shade is highly pigmented and again can be worn on a daily basis.
Without light
The liquid lipsticks retails for $6 and can be found on the website.
